Abbas said that his political party “is ready to bear full responsibility for governance and safety” of the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Authority currently manages parts of the West Bank under the Oslo chords, but its authority is limited. It formally claims Gaza as part of the Palestinian territories, but has had no control over it since 2007. Hamas has remained the actual authority there.
Abbas said that under Pa Governance “Hamas would have no control.” He said that Hamas should hand over his weapons to the PA and it stated that he did not want to rule ‘armed state’.
“We want a modern civil state that is free from violence, weapons and extremism, a state that does not respect law, human rights, human rights and in people, development, technology and education – in wars and conflicts.”
At the same time, Abbas claimed that Jerusalem is the “eternal capital” for Palestinians.

Jerusalem is the jewel of our hearts and our eternal capital. We will not leave our home country. We will not leave our country.”
His comments came after Trump yielded a 21-point peace plan to Arabic leaders this week to bring peace to Gaza.
Separately, the UN general meeting approved a plan to implement a two -state solution to end the war.
“We are ready to collaborate with US President Donald Trump and with the Kingdom of Saudi Aarabia and France, the United Nations and all partners to implement the peace plan.”
He criticized the plans of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for what Abbas called a ‘larger Israel’.
“The Israeli Prime Minister announced a plan for what he calls Greater Israel that we reject and fully regret.”

The comments from the Palestinian leader came when Israel deepened his offensive in Gaza City and said that the option to annex the West Bank is on the table.

While he claimed that Israel carried out ‘genocide, destruction, hunger and displacement’, he said that the PA will reject the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7.

“We reject the confusion of solidarity to the Palestinian cause and the issue of anti -Semitism, something that we reject based on our values and principles,” Abbas continued.
The president noted the ineffectiveness of the UN, which often spends resolutions of convictions against Israeli action that have no real effect, and expressed that international peace negotiations did not end the war in Gaza.
“More than 1,000 resolutions at the United Nations. Not one of them has been implemented. Many efforts and many international initiatives have been made without ending this tragic situation. The Palestinian people live under the yoke of occupation.”
