A new poll of New York City Voters believe that they have a more positive view of capitalism than socialism – although it is a relatively narrow margin.
40% of New Yorkers, on the other hand, have an unfavorable picture of capitalism, including 22% with a strong unfavorable opinion about the economic system.
Socialism was slightly less popular, with 41% of New Yorkers reporting a favorable vision – including 15% who have a strong positive opinion about socialism. More New Yorkers, however, have an unfavorable picture of socialism, in which 44% report an unfavorable opinion about socialism, including 29% with a strong negative perspective.

Male New Yorkers had a 59% among demographic groups Favorable image of capitalism In contrast to a favorable picture of 40% on socialism.
The views of female New Yorkers about capitalism were 38% favorable to 45% unfavorable, while socialism was viewed favorably by 41% and negative by 40% of the respondents.
New Yorkers identified as Democrats in the poll had a net negative image of capitalism – 41% favorable for 49% unfavorable. They had a net positive image of socialism with 49% favorable versus 35% unfavorable.

Independent New Yorkers preferred capitalism with a fairly broad margin – only 27% considered socialism as favorable with 52% that had an unfavorable opinion, while 45% had a positive picture of capitalism in contrast to a 28% unfavorable rating.
Despite the fact that capitalism has given a modest lead over socialism, New Yorkers expressed a preference for socialist leaning politicians in the poll.
New York Assemblyman ZOHRAN MAMDANI – The Democratic nominee in the mayor of New York City who is a member of Democratic Socialists of America – was viewed favorably by 50% of New Yorkers who were interviewed, with an unfavorable rating of 38%.

Among the respondents who expressed a favorable image of Mamdani, 20% said they like his policy and ideasWhile another 16% said he is giving people and New York City while he is looking for working people. Moreover, 16% said that Mamdani represents change and new ideas, while 11% said they like their policy that is nice to tackle affordability.
On the other hand, 28% of New Yorkers who have an unfavorable view of Mamdani said that his communist or socialist views were the reason that they do not love the mayor. Another 11% said they don’t like his positions on Israel and Gaza, or think he is anti -Semitic, while another 11% said they don’t like his policy or ideas.

Another Democratic Socialist, Sen. Bernie SandersI-ut., Was favorably viewed by 61% of the respondents compared to an unfavorable rating of 31% below New Yorkers.
