Comic Jackie Gleason’s The New York house is for sale.
His house in Hudson Valley, known as the Mothership, was placed on the market for $ 5.5 million, in collaboration with frame agent Heidi Henshaw of Corcoran Legends Realty.
“The Mothership” is a piece of American cultural history. The vision of Jackie Gleason, combined with the architectural ingenuity of Robert Cika, created something really iconic, “Henshaw said in a statement.
Cut by UFOs, Gleason architect Robert Cika ordered the building of the house, which was completed after five years of construction in 1959. When it was ready, the house was considered an architectural rarity, because it had no straight corners and had a design concept based on a music note.

The house was prefabricated in an airplane hangar by a Scandinavian shipbuilder, which built its unique characteristics, such as a ceiling in the form of boats and fireplaces that was used so large helicopter for delivery. The house also has floor-to-ceiling windows and offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding area.
“Westchester remains one of the most attractive markets in the region and offers the proximity of New York City with the privacy and space that the buyers are looking for today. Features like this, steeped in history and surrounded by nature, are increasingly rare,” Henshaw said.
