Costco calls on bottles of prosecco about concern that the bottles can crush spontaneously, even if they are left alone.
Costco, in a warning letter, told consumers in a dozen states that the Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene is being recalled due to the risk of unopened bottles that are crushing.
The letter was sent to customers who bought the product between 25 April and 26 August in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota or Wisconsin.

The affected bottles have the article number 1879870.

“If you have an unopened bottle, do not open it. Discard the bottle immediately (do not return the item) by wrapping the unopened bottle in paper towels and placing them in a plastic bag before placing it in the waste to prevent risks of shattered glass,” Costco wrote in a note to customers.
