The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zenskyy said that there is “no sign” that Russia is preparing to end the war in his country, because President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are just a few days away from a meeting in Alaska.
The Ukrainian leader wrote on X Wednesday: “This war must be terminated. The pressure must be exerted on Russia because of a just peace. The experience of Ukraine and our partners must be used to prevent fraud by Russia.
“At the moment there is no sign that the Russians are preparing to end the war. Our coordinated efforts and joint actions – Van Ukraine, the United States, Europe and all countries seeking peace – can certainly force Russia to make peace,” he added.
Trump and Putin will meet each other on Friday in Anchorage, Alaska.

Trump described the conversations on Monday as a “bankrupt-out meeting” and has made it clear that his most important agenda item will be to determine whether a ceasefire in Ukraine is even possible.
When reporters printed by reporters this week about what he specifically hopes to achieve from the personal conversations Putin – especially after apparently positive calls that only resulted in a “frustrated” Trump and constantly Russian bombing of Ukraine – the president was light on details.
Although he told reporters that he thinks he will know if a cease -firing with Putin is even possible within the first ‘two minutes’.

“I’m not going to close a deal. It’s not up to me to close a deal,” he said. “I think a deal must be closed for both [Putin and Zelenskyy].
“I would like to see a ceasefire. I would like to see the best deal that can be closed for both parties. You know, two is needed for Tango,” he added.
Zelenskyy also wrote on X last week: “The path to peace for Ukraine must be determined together with Ukraine – this is fundamental.
