Major Tech Company discusses pressure to censor accounts
President Donald Trump has won a settlement of $ 24.5 million against YouTube about the suspension of the platform of his account after the January 6, 2021, Capitol Riots.
The Alphabet company is the last of the three major social media platforms charged by TrumpIn addition to Meta and Twitter, now called X, to resolve claims that are linked to his removal.
According to the application, Alphabet also pays $ 2.5 million to other claimants, including the American Conservative Union, author Naomi Wolf and various people.

The deal closes a series of high -profile legal fights that Trump has launched against Big Tech after being banned from several platforms.
Meta reached a settlement of $ 25 million earlier in 2025, while X reportedly paid $ 10 million, as reported for the first time by the Wall Street Journal.
YouTube suspended Trump’s channel on January 12, 2021 and said that his content violated the policy against inciting violence.

John P. Coale, Trump’s main lawyer, emphasized the role of Trump’s return to the White House when accelerating the settlements. “If he hadn’t been re -elected, we would have been in court for 1000 years,” said Coale, according to the Wall Street Journal.
