Starmer said that his government will make a final assessment prior to the UNGA meeting to determine which steps both Israel and Hamas have taken and make a final decision about recognizing a Palestinian state.
The British leader continued to say that the primary motive behind the announcement is to change the situation on site in Gaza and to facilitate the release of more hostages.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected the announcement of Starmer in a counter -declaration on Tuesday.
“The shift in the position of the British government at the moment, after the French relocation and internal political pressure, is a reward for Hamas and damages efforts to achieve a ceasefiring -the fires in Gaza and a framework for the release of hostages,” the ministry said.

The VK announcement only comes one day after starmer Trump met in Turnberry, Scotland, where both leaders condemned the humanitarian and hunger crisis in Gaza.
Trump broke publicly with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the meeting and said he did not agree that the hunger crisis is a false story that Hamas has put forward.

Trump has emphasized America’s efforts to guarantee the help for Gaza, and notes that around $ 60 million the US has spent on the issue in recent days.

In recent days, Israel has started performing auxiliary drops about Gaza and bends to pressure after months of limiting the flow of help. The IDF had long said that Hamas stealed many of the resources that were sent into the region, a statement that Trump and the US have repeated.
