Rodríguez, Venezuela’s former vice president and oil minister, was sworn in on Monday following Maduro’s resignation from office and his appearance in a New York courtroom on drug trafficking charges.

“Delcy has gone from being a mediocre lawyer to now being the president of one of the richest countries in Latin America,” the source said.
“She’s probably been in every position because they rotate the same people because they don’t have anyone else they trust.
“Delcy is a very close and reliable person for Maduro and the same was also for Chávez.”
President Donald Trump said Saturday that Rodríguez, 56, was “willing to do what we think is necessary to make Venezuela great again.”
Rodríguez, who has served as foreign minister, president of the Constituent Assembly, vice president and oil minister, was sworn in by her brother, Jorge Rodríguez, the head of the National Assembly.
Born in Caracas, Rodríguez is the daughter of the Marxist guerrilla leader Jorge Antonio Rodriguezco-founder of the Socialist League.
He was arrested in connection with the 1976 kidnapping of American businessman William F. Niehous and later died in police custody, police said. New York Times.

Reports say she was transporting gold to Europe, a claim Rodríguez has denied.
