Vice -president JD Vance hit a reconciling tone on Friday after he was touched in London when he told reporters that the US and the UK may not agree on strategy when it comes to ending the war in Gaza, but they “share” the same goal of peace.
“We have no plans to recognize a Palestinian state,” Vance said prior to a meeting with British Foreign Minister David Lammy. “I don’t know what it would mean to really recognize a Palestinian state, given the lack of a functional government there.
“It is clear that it is not a simple problem to solve, or it would have been tackled,” he added, and noted that he not only wore Hamas, but also to end the humanitarian crisis over the Gaza Strip. “But we share, I think, that focus and that goal.
“We may have some disagreements about how we can achieve that goal, and we will talk about that today,” Vance added.

Israel security cabinet approves the plan to occupy Gaza City
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced an important shift in British policy to Israel at the end of July and said that if Jerusalem did not agree with a cease -the Fire in September, it would recognize a Palestinian state -a status with which Israeli leaders have long objected.
The warning from starmer, who reflected similar positions that were considered by France and Canada, responded directly to the growing frustration with Israel about his constant military operations and the terrible humanitarian situation that Palestinians have been confronted with for months.
Although the UK approach to dealing with the escalating situation is contrary to the position of President Donald Trump when it comes to recognizing a two -state solution, Trump has also increasingly expressed his concern about access to food aid and the “real hunger” there.
It is unclear how the US will increase its involvement to help with food aid, but the Trump government has distanced itself from its best allies when it comes to Israel’s military operations in Gaza, where Trump told reporters on Monday that it was “almost to Israel”.

Netanyahu promises to take full control of Gaza Strip, ‘liberated’ people from Hamas
The security cabinet of Israel approved a plan on Friday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu formed to occupy Gaza City despite the international pushback.
But Netanyahu immediately resisted geopolitric protest in a post on X and said: “We’re not going to occupy Gaza – we’re going Gaza for free from Hamas for free.
“Gaza will be demilitarized, and a peaceful civil administration will be established, one that is not the Palestinian authority, not Hamas, and no other terrorist organization,” he added. “This will help to free our hostages and to ensure that Gaza does not have Israel’s threat in the future.”

The plan is still expected to be confronted with international conviction, but it is not the only problem at the top of the Western spirits such as Vance and Lammy to meet on Friday.
“We have a lot to discuss. There is a lot going on in the world,” said Vance. “Of course, the situation in the middle, the situation with Ukraine and Russia. There is a lot of new and many things to work on.”
Apart from the most important international security problems, the duo is also expected to tackle economic partnerships, including recent American tariff announcements.
