In a TikTok post On Tuesday, the team event gold medalist brandished her newly won hardware with teammate Alysa Liu and eviscerated her critics.
“They hate seeing two woke bitches win,” Glenn wrote. “If ‘Woke’ means people using their platforms to advocate for marginalized communities in the country they actively represent… Then yes?”
Glenn has been criticized for speaking out against the Trump administration at the Cortina Games in Milan, and she appeared to direct her criticism at opponents.
Glenn, who is pansexual, had said she would withdraw from social media after commentators threatened her for expressing her political views. “I’m disappointed about it,” she said in a now-expired Instagram story.
In previous comments, she said: “It has been a difficult time for the [LGBTQ+] community at large in this government. … I know a lot of people say just be an athlete, stick to your job and shut up about politics, but politics affects us all.
Freestyle skier Hunter Hess bore the brunt of President Donald Trump’s wrath.
Hess said he had “mixed feelings” about representing the US, prompting the president to call him a “real loser.” Other Olympians have also opposed Trump’s policies, including the government’s crackdown on migrants and the killing of two protesters.
