Former air traffic controller Michael Pearson shares his biggest worries for air travel after Newark Airport had a whole series of failure on ‘The Bottom Line’.
United Airlines has temporarily based all its main flights on Wednesday evening due to a technical problem, the airline said.
Mainline flights are operated directly by United, using its own aircraft and crew. These usually include Boeing 737, 757, 767, 777 and 787 Jets, as well as Airbus A319 and A320 models.
In a statement placed on social media, United apologized for the disruption and said that her teams worked to solve the problem as quickly as possible.

In response to a concerned traveler on social media, United recognized the issue and thanked the passenger for their patience.
“We are currently aware of the system error and are working on a solution to have you on the road as soon as possible,” United replied. “We understand that this disruption caused frustrations during your journey and appreciate your continuous patience.”
A spokesperson later said that the airline “worked with customers to bring them to their destinations after a technological disruption.”
“The underlying technology problem has been resolved and although we expect remaining delays, our team is working on restoring our normal activities,” said the airline.
