Israel is accused of committing “the crime against humanity of extermination” and hinders religious freedoms in a recent report from the United Nations.
The Un Independent International Commission of Enquiry on the Occupiced Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem and Israel (COI), has issued a destructive report of 19 pages.
In a summary of the report, the COI said that “violations of international human rights legislation, international humanitarian law and possible international crimes with regard to attacks on educational facilities and religious and cultural locations.” However, the COI seems to be heavier for Israel than the Palestinian authorities.

In its conclusion, the COI offers 13 recommendations for Israel, two for ‘the de facto authorities in Gaza’, two for ‘the government of the state of Palestine’ and two for all UN Lidstaten.
The report already causes controversy, whereby the American mission and legal experts express concerns about its content.

Among the many accusations against Israel include some of the most Egregious claims that Israel limits religious freedoms, referring to the control of holy places in Jerusalem. The COI stated in its report that Palestinian worshipers “were subject to increased safety checks, checkpoints, intimidation and abuse and criteria, linked to age, gender and place of residence, have been applied by the Israeli authorities to limit which Palestinians may enter” the temple confirmation. The committee also claims that a “religious leader” was arrested shortly after 7 October about a sermon he gave in the mosque without explaining what was said.
Moreover, the committee also complained that “extremist Jews and right-wing politicians” were allowed on several occasions “to enter the site with a police escort, praying and provocation, despite a long-term ban on Jewish prayer.” The COI seemed to take on a greater issue with Jews who pray than with the ban on their ability to do this, despite the claim of restrictions on religious freedoms.

Hamas who works on ‘sabotaging’ of Trump-supported auxiliary strap with ‘fake news’: Israeli official
“For the sake of clarity, Palestinians go through pure hell in this conflict and much of them is because Hamas has brought them into an impossible situation. We have been clear that Israel has the right to take action against Hamas, but we have also been just as clear that Israel must take every precautionary measure to protect the citizens,” the Spokesis added.
In another part of the report, the COI notes that the UN -Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) documented 42 authorities from 7 October 2023 to 15 March 2024, in which “parties in the conflict” interfere with its schools.
Although UNRWA was not directly about whether Hamas used his facilities, the committee said that Israeli troops caused the majority of damage to educational facilities’. Although the committee states the statement of Israel that Hamas had operated on from these schools, the terror organization also “disputed” the terror organization.

In its recommendations for Israel, the Jerusalem committee calls on “the use of educational facilities and cultural locations for military purposes”. It also ordered that “de facto authorities in Gaza” – Hamas – “cease to use civil objects for military purposes.”
The committee also calls on Israel to “offer effective, adequate and fast remedy for victims of human rights violations, including surviving family members,” but does not set such requirements of those responsible for atrocities committed on 7 October.
