The ongoing threat of anti -Semitism was underlined on Thursday after at least two people were killed in a British synagogue attack. The violence then unfolded millions of Jews Yom Kippur, the holiest day in their faith, and as the global efforts continued to free from 46 Israeli hostages of Hamas.
Details of the attacker, who attacked the Hebrew municipality of Heaton Park in the northeastern city of Manchester in England by ramming his car in pedestrians before he stabs at least one person, remains unknown.
The British police shot and killed the suspect and authorities, the attack declared a terrorist incident.

The Community Security Trust (CST), which follows anti -Semitic attacks in the UK, discovered that “incidents” drastically escalated against the Jewish community against the Jewish community after the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, and the following war in the Gaza Strip that followed on 4,103 events that were recorded that year -A all time.
In October 2023 alone, 1,330 cases of anti -Semitism were reported by the CST, including attack, damage or desecration, threats and offensive behavior against Jews.
Incidents reported in November and December that year, with 931 and 477 incidents respectively, those months made the second and fourth-strict months for anti-Semitism in the UK registered by the group.
Last year also saw 3,528 incidents reported, more than double the 1,652 incidents reported the year prior to the Hamas attacks of 7 October on Israel.
CST discovered that the increase in attacks was linked to ideologically or politically motivated feelings with regard to the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu went to X to offer his participation in the victims of the attack and said: “Israel is mourning with the Jewish community in the UK after the barbaric terror attack in Manchester.
“As I warned about the UN: weakness in the face of terrorism only brings more terrorism. Only strength and unity can beat it,” he added.
Although the motive behind Thursday’s attack remains unknown, Ruhe argued that the failure of European leaders to “use their diplomatic weight to support a viable future after the Hamas for Gazanen” and instead “punishing” has contributed to the rise in anti -Semitic sentiment.
The attack on the Manchester synagogue comes only two weeks after the VK and other European leaders agreed to acknowledge a Palestinian state after a long refusal to do this.
But anti -Semitism also increases in the US, which noticed Ruhe, possibly more concerns about the history of Europe with the fight against the issue.
Jewish targeted attacks in the UK rose 282%in recent decade, according to data collected by the CST. But in the US anti -Semitic attacks of 893% in the same period of 10 years, according to the Anti-defamationWith around 9,354 incidents reported last year.
“The rise of open and violent anti -Semitism in America is more recent than in a large part of Europe, but perhaps all the more disturbing,” said Ruhe. “Part of the solution is that colleges close extreme left campus ‘protests’ that are only planning to put Jews and everyone who calls to intimidate policy to end the existence of Israel.
“It has been very telling that such ‘protesters’ use militarized language such as ‘camps’ to describe their presence and activities of their campus.”

But Ruhe pointed out that anti -Semitism is an increasing concern about the extremes of the political spectrum, so that a story is driven on both the far left and far right.
“There is also a somewhat more subtle standardization of anti -Semitism on the far right, for example, large influencers who ask if we need more context to talk about Adolf Hitler and Nazism,” said Ruhe. “There must be a more serious and clear pushback from our political leaders on such stories.”
