Donald Trump continues to try to prove that his brain is not melted into cottage cheese, and every time he tries, he only raises more doubts and increases questions about his cognitive state.
Trump did himself no favors by joining a Mike Johnson rally for the Republican nominee in the special election for the US House of Representatives in Tennessee and going on a bizarre tirade that only served to remind voters why he has a negative job approval rating in a district he won by 22 points last year.
On Tuesday, Trump held one of his made-for-cable Cabinet meetings, with members of his Cabinet sitting around a table and telling Trump how great he is and how great the country is doing.
The meetings themselves are not newsworthy and are straight out of The Apprentice playbook. Trump is given the impression that he is capable and in charge, and the Republican Party hopes that the American people will buy into it.
The questions about Trump’s apparent mental decline are apparently starting to bother the president, because after complaining about why no one talks about the work he’s doing at the border anymore, Trump has spiraled into some wild claims about his health.
The President said:
You know, it’s crazy. They don’t talk about it. You’d think, they’d say, Trump said it was a great job on the border. This country is being destroyed by the border. But you always discover something new, like: is he in good health? Biden was great. But is Trump in good health?
I’m sitting here, I’m sitting here, I’m doing news, four press conferences a day. I ask questions to very intelligent fools. You people, I always give. I give the correct answers. There is never any scandal. There is never a problem that I give you. Answers that solve your little problems. You go back and you can’t find anything, but you do.
