President Donald Trump said on Thursday that his administration ‘tries’ to get the former American Bagram airport in Afghanistan back from the Taliban.
In comments to the press while the British Prime Minister Kier Starmer stood, the president criticized the handling of the withdrawal of the US from Afghanistan under President Joe Biden and said he had “a little bit news.”
“We try to get it back,” said Trump. “We try to get it back because they need things from us.”

Trump did not expand to whom he referred or, if he refers to the Taliban, the terrorist organization that the country took over in 2021, what they “want” from the United States.
“We want that basis back, but one of the reasons why we want the basis is, as you know, it is an hour away from where China makes its nuclear weapons,” Trump added.
This is a crushing new story. Come back for updates.
