Trump demanded this weekend that the the rest of the world is coming to help him with his favorite war against Iran. Trump had the audacity to make this demand after months of launching trade wars and threatening US allies.
The reaction of the world was a very diplomatic way of telling Trump to kick the rocks.
Politics completed:
-
Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said her country has no plans to send ships to the Gulf, according to Reuters.
-
Britain will also not send ships, but is offering minesweeping drones, according to The Independent.
-
France has previously shown interest, but first wants the situation to stabilize24.
-
EU foreign ministers will today discuss how to move an existing three-ship team protecting ships from Houthi rebels to the Strait of Hormuz… But Germany’s foreign minister Johann Wadephul has already said, according to Reuters, that he does not believe it would be effective.
-
South Korea remains non-committal and is already fearful of exhausting the US military presence in the Indo-Pacific.
-
Australia has also ruled out sending any ships, according to Australian national broadcaster ABC.
Trump is getting a dose of foreign policy principle in action.
The president has not taken this reaction from the rest of the world well.
During a speech at the Kennedy Center on Monday, Trump said:
It’s very small, very few photos will be taken because they don’t have many photos left. But they said we’d rather not get involved. I just want the fake news media and everyone else to remember that this was said because back then, and I have been a big critic of protecting countries because I know we will protect them if ever the need arises. If we ever needed help, they won’t be there for us.
Trump then completely lost the plot and collapsed, as you will read and see below.
