Nothing works for Donald Trump. His immigration policies and tactics that he thought would delight MAGA have imploded and turned all but his most loyal supporters against him.

A Louisiana state House district that Trump carried by 13 points in 2024 saw a 37-point swing to Democrats on Saturday in a jungle primary. The seat was already held by Democrats, but Republicans saw it as an excellent opportunity because Trump had won it three times. Instead, it tilted even more toward the Democrats.
Republicans are increasingly concerned that they will lose their majority in the Senate, and nearly a dozen Republican incumbents have already left or announced they will not run for re-election to the House of Representatives.
Trump is quickly running out of options. He is barred from deploying the National Guard and does not have the manpower to send ICE into districts to influence crucial elections in the House and Senate. That’s why he’s now demanding that Republicans pass a massive voter suppression bill.
