This week it was reported that President Donald Trump has shown interest in former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to help in his mission to beat socialist Zohran Mamdani in the mayor of Gotham.
In the first instance, this may seem contraindative, or even as it could help Zohran to help in his search to make the Big Apple again in the image of chairman Mao. But is it really so strange? In fact, it might be exactly the thing that Trump, Cuomo and their respective parties now need.

One thing that Trump and Cuomo have in common is that both have been the objectives of malignant, politically driven legislation by the hands of the New York Attorney General Letitia James. Do you remember your hair, the one who promised to continue Trump on the campaign track before you were even chosen?
James was also the driving force behind allegations that Cuomo committed sexual abuse as a governor, a claim that never led to a criminal finding, but was sufficient to force the offspring of New York politics to resign in shame.

This is important because both Trump and Cuomo have directly experienced the politics of personal hostility that so many Americans tear apart. This gives Cuomo the chance to be the candidate who can turn the page and hate us apart.
For example, there is no reason why Cuomo would not praise the closure of Trump of the southern border, a movement that clearly takes a huge pressure from New York City, which drowns in illegal migrants.
Mamdani and his cheerful Marxists in the democratic socialists of America think that securing the border inhuman and racist. Most people, including a lot of New Yorkers, just think it’s common sense.
There are also Trump programs about homelessness, drug addiction and crime that Cuomo could promise to be a partner to help the city, not just a constant foil against Trump’s federal government.
A good model for Cuomo here is Democrat Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman. He certainly never shuns away from attacking Trump, but has also sought a common basis, even the prizes of the economic deals of the president due to rates.

Another big victory that Cuomo would achieve through the support of Trump is that it would neutralize the Republican Curtis Sliwa, who deserves an enormous honor for everything he has done for the city, but almost certainly would not defy Trump and stay in the race after approval from Cuomo.
According to the Decision desk headquarters, Mamdani currently has 38% in the polls, with Cuomo with 25%, Sliwa with 15% and the current mayor Eric Adams at 11%. So with Sliwa voices alone, Cuomo would jump in the lead.
The clear fact is that there is no way that Cuomo can run to Mamdani’s left. The only thing on the left side of Zany Zohran is old -fashioned communism with food shortage. No, the only path of Cuomo is through the middle.
It is also possible that the path of America is through the center, and if Trump and Cuomo can reach a detente, then a reasonable conversation may replace anger as the currency of our political empire.
From the point of view of President Trump, a embrace of Cuomo is also logical. The greatest weapon, perhaps the only one who have democrats against the president is indignation, and the idea that we are in the middle of a national emergency situation.
It is this Fever field that enables so many federal judges to thwart Trump in rule after pronunciation, the left mantra of “this is not normal”, sound in their ears and on the street.

Trump’s era is almost ten years old and who is blamed, caused the corrosive damage, not only to our politics and our judiciary, but our social and cultural life, has been huge. Almost every American I am talking to has lost a friend or family member about it.
Perhaps Trump and Cuomo can be a model for the country that comes together again, because they were almost in the opening phase of Covid, when they regularly praised each other’s efforts before the summer of 2020 threw the nation into chaos.

There are certainly many republicans outside of New York who root for Mamdani to become Hizzoner, to make him the face of the Democratic Party. But they must be careful what they want. Not long ago, Democrats felt the same about Trump – until he won.
Cuomo has difficulty making a splash in the race of this mayor against the flashy and charming Mamdani. Making peace with Trump would certainly do that, and the result is perhaps not just the rescue of New York City, it can be the rescue of the country.
