As the holidays approach, every major company and brand in the country will be putting together activations and campaigns.
For Toyota, the annual Toyotathon sales event is all about lowering prices, but it also has an NFL tie-in. At least, Green Bay Packers fans made it that way when they noticed something strangely specific about their star quarterback.
Since 2023, Jordan Love has thrived at Toyotathon. This year, Toyota took note of this “car spiral” and turned it into a fun promotion for Packers fans.

Toyota, in collaboration with trading card company Panini America, has produced a rare trading card that highlights Love’s stats from the past three seasons during the Toyotathon event. It actually changed to ‘Loveathon’.
Each trading card includes a piece of Love’s Toyotathon holiday jersey that he wore for the promotion, a nod to other rare trading cards with game-used jerseys inside.

Now the biggest question of all: how do you get the special love card?
“Our dealers have been the guardians of the Toyotathon magic for years,” Toyota said. ‘They know how to recognize the chosen ones. The cards will find their way – by fate, not by application.

“Maybe it’s for buying a car or wearing a Jordan Love jersey on a test drive, but our dealers will find a way to identify those who are destined to carry the magic with them.”
Since there are only 250 cards, Toyota says, “Jordan asked that these cards only go to true fans – and to storytellers who believe in the power woven into that jersey.”

What exactly has Love done at Toyotathon over the years? The back of the trading card states that Love has thrown 28 touchdowns with just two interceptions in 16 career games as the promotion takes place across the country. He has a 68.3% completion percentage, 3,719 passing yards and a passer rating of 110.7.
Toyotathon is also held at a time when the NFL stakes are at their highest. Every team is desperate for a spot in the play-offs. The Packers are no different.

Love and the Packers defeated the New York Giants 27-20 on Sunday, snapping a two-game losing streak and clinching another playoff spot in the NFC. If the season ended today, they would own the No. 6 seed with a 6-3-1 record.
With seven games remaining, Packers fans are hopeful the Toyotathon magic continues for their fifth-year quarterback.
