I grew up in a Christian community in Egypt. Like many other families, we suffered firsthand under the oppressive rule of the Islamosocialist regime of Gamal Abdel Nasser, chairman of the Revolutionary Command Council of Egypt. Later the military dictatorship of Nasser controlled every aspect of our lives.
As a young man I escaped the repression of Nasser’s Egypt and I went to freedom in America. After lived in Egypt Islamosocialism, I have a deep compassion for the suffering people of Iran. They only want to live in peace.
But Iran’s leaders are committed to a death culture ideology and a nuclear confrontation with Western civilization. Here are three important facts that show why Iran’s radical clergymen will never leave their nuclear obsession:
Fact no. 1: A nuclear armed Iran cannot be put off by nuclear doctrines in the Cold War.
During the Cold War, the logic of mutual insured destruction (MAD) kept nuclear super powers under control. Every president, prime minister and prime minister knew that launching a nuclear attack would invite destruction.

I have heard people say: “We are already living with a nuclear armed North Korea and a nuclear armed Pakistan. Would a nuclear armed Iran be worse?”
In fact, a nuclear armed Iran would be unending worse. The reason is that Shiite Islam – the prevailing ideology in Iran – makes the Cold War outdoor doctrines of deterrence. This is why:
Fact no. 2: The leaders of Iran have a religious stimulans to launch Armageddon.
I spent countless hours talking with Sunni and Shiite Muslims in the middle. I also studied cultural anthropology at Emory University, with a focus on radical Islamic movements. My research was published in a textbook, “Revolt Against Modernity.” I believe it is vital that we understand Islamic history and Islamic beliefs in the West.
Islam is divided into different sects, especially Sunnis and Shiites. In 1501, the Safavid rulers of the Persian Empire of Sjiti Islam declared the official state religion, which distinguished Persia from his Sunni neighbors. After Persia was renamed Iran in 1935, the official faith remained the official faith.

Many of Iran’s clergymen fiercely believe that before the Mahdi can be revealed, an apocalyptic struggle must be fought between loyal Muslims and the forces of evil. As a result, some Iranian leaders – and possibly the Ayatollah itself – are motivated To activate a Nuclear War to fulfill the old prophecies and to force the appearance of the hidden Mahdi.
Iran officially denies having a nuclear weapon program. In October 2003, the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, published a Fatwa stating that nuclear weapons are forbidden under Islam. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), however, claims that Iran has a highly enriched uranium to build nine nuclear nuclear heads. Shiite Islam has invented a religious/judicial doctrine called TaqiyyaThat is necessary to cheat your enemies until you have the upper hand.

The recent attacks of Israel and the United States against Iran’s nuclear facilities have given a serious setback to the nuclear ambitions of the clergymen – but are not misled. Iran’s Twelver Shiite spirituals will never leave their fanatic dream to launch a last war and to reveal the long hidden Mahdi.
Fact no. 3: A nuclear armed Iran not only threatens Israel, but also the entire Western civilization.
Iran has shown that his rockets are able to insist the Iron Dome Defense Systems of Israel. Imagine those rockets wore nuclear nuclear heads! Even more disturbing, Iran develops aggressive intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMS) via his Space Launch Vehicle (SLV) program.

The director of the US Defense Intelligence Agency, Lt. Gene. Robert Ashley, the congress told that Iran could use his SLV program to work ‘towards an ICBM options’. When Iran tests a vehicle of a satellite launch, it bends its ability to threaten Europe and North America.
The Iranian clergymen made their goal clear: “Death to Israel! Death to America!” But we in the West are not looking for the death of Iran. We only want the Iranian people to be free from theocratic oppression.

The people of Iran have repeatedly risen against the Islamist regime – the student protests of 1999, the “Bloody November” protests 2019, the protests of women’s rights of 2022 and many others. Every time people got up, the government brutally extinguished their cries for freedom.
I trust and hope that there will soon be another rebellion and that Iran people reach their liberation. And I also hope that the leaders of the United States, Europe and Israel do everything to speed up the arrival of that day.
