Watch the short video above as a companion of this piece, where I discuss Trump’s dictator talk.
Trump continues to mention the fact that he is called a dictator and then praises as a dictator, but turns and says that he is not a dictator.
Trump said during his cabinet meeting, talking about his imaginary meeting where Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD) probably praised him, “Then he (Moore) goes on television, says: Oh, Trump is a dictator. He is a dictator, and many people here, but I am a dictator, but I stop a dictator, but I am stopping a dictator. I just have to stop.”
Donald Trump does not like to be called a dictator, although the current president, although goes back to the 2024 campaign, spoke the current president on the first day.
If we observe the behavior of his administration, it is clear that what Trump advocates his faith is in the idea that presidents possess unlimited and uncontrolled executive power.
The conviction that the presidential power is uncontrolled is the determining characteristic of his second administration.
Where other presidents take action that they think they are legal and then let the courts arrange the question, Trump assumes that everything he does is legal and sue people to stop or return.
If the Trump concept of an uncontrolled manager reforms the establishment of the presidency, this is a danger that continues if a president tries to look for a third term.
The second Trump government tries to crush the constitutional principle of equivalent government branches. Although it might be good to imagine that a democratic president behaves in this way after the Trump period has ended, it would not be good for democracy or the nation.
Donald Trump is not going to try to look for a third term. Trump is the ultimate troll that knows that the mentioning of this makes him the headlines and sends some democrats in a Tizzy. Ignore Trump’s words. His actions say that he intends to leave when his term ends.
What Trump does is much more dangerous. He tries to crush constitutional principles and define the power of the presidency. Richard Nixon was the first president to try this. Trump has become further than Nixon has ever done.
When Trump talks about being a dictator, you understand what he is really talking about and the long -term threat are his ideas for democracy.
One day Trump will be gone, but he cannot imperialize the presidency before he goes.
