The Walt Disney Company is a Bedrijftapower. Disney has his mouse legs in almost everything, so when people who are furious about Disney who take Jimmy Kimmel from the sky, talk about a boycott, there are a few things that have to be discussed.
A boycott of the whole of Disney will probably not go anywhere, because Disney’s Kimmel decision was not financially. Disney voluntarily handed over one of their top programs without much attention for what it would cost. Kimmel was an average of 1.77 million viewers per night in the last quarter. There is nothing that ABC can attract in place that will yield the same or more viewers.
Disney knew this and walked Kimmel anyway.

The company could do this because they are huge and have many other sources of income. Because people have to boycott Marvel, Star Wars, The Muppets, ABC, Hulu and Pixar, to name a few entertainment brands, Disney is not very worried about general boycots.
However, Disney has a weakness of four letters called ESPN. The sports network has a huge dollar multibiljoen with the NCAA for basketball and football, and the NFL, among other things.
ESPN is the secret income driver for Disney via television provider Koets costs.
A transport costs are monthly fee that is paid to a network by each satellite and cable subscriber. If you get your TV from a service such as YouTubetV, you also pay a carriage, but it is speculated that carriage costs for digital TV are much lower than traditional cable and satellite. It is speculated that because reimbursements are confidential, nobody knows how many subscribers pay for ESPN.
By the way, even if you never watch ESPN, if you subscribe to a monthly TV service, you still pay Disney, whether you know it or not.
Occasionally the audience gets a song. In 2022, Disney revealed to the shareholders that it earns more money with carriage costs for ESPN ($ 10 billion) than for the entire entertainment department.
ESPN’s carriage costs are the Disney Cash Cow, and they are also the place where you can protest most effectively against the Trump cave on Jimmy Kimmel.
If you have cable or satellite, cut the cord. If you do not want to cancel your service, call your provider and ask you to be moved to a package that does not contain ESPN. If they do not have a package that does not contain ESPN, you may have to decide whether or not to cut the cord.
Disney earns more money from carriages for ESPN than they make advertisements, That is why a traditional boycott would not be effective.
If you want Disney to let you know that you will not support a company that will increase, the money will follow and stop subsidizing ESPN with expensive carriage costs.
