The US military carried out another attack on a suspected drug ship, this time in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Minister of War Pete Hegseth announced this on Wednesday.
Tuesday’s strike against a boat allegedly carrying drugs is the eighth carried out by the Trump administration. The previous seven took place in the Caribbean.
“Yesterday, at the direction of President Trump, the War Department conducted a lethal kinetic attack on a ship operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization and engaged in narcotics trafficking in the Eastern Pacific. The ship was known by our intelligence community to be involved in the illicit smuggling of narcotics, transiting a known transit route for narcotics and narcotics on board,” Hegseth said.
“There were two narco-terrorists on board the ship during the attack, which was carried out in international waters. Both terrorists were killed and no US troops were injured in this attack,” he added.

Earlier this week, Hegseth announced that three suspected narco-terrorists were killed in a U.S. attack on a drug-smuggling ship affiliated with Colombia’s National Liberation Army.
That “deadly kinetic attack” took place in international waters on Friday at the direction of the president Donald Trumpwrote Hegseth in a post on X.
“The vessel was known to our intelligence community to be involved in the illegal trafficking of narcotics, was operating along a known narcotics trafficking route and was transporting significant quantities of narcotics,” Hegseth wrote. “There were three male narco-terrorists on board the ship during the attack, which was carried out in international waters.”
“All three terrorists were killed and no U.S. forces were injured in this attack,” he added.

The Colombian Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) is one designated terrorist organization. Hegseth compared the Colombian rebel group to the terrorist group Al Qaeda, founded by Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan.
