It was a move that was considered a gamble just a few days ago but now has a real chance of breaking Mike Johnson and getting an extension of Affordable Care Act subsidies through the House Affordable Care Act.
Punchbowl News reported on who is the bipartisan group in the House supporting the bill:
A bipartisan group of members of the House of Representatives introduces an account to extend the increased Obamacare subsidies for two years with new income limits and anti-fraud measures.
Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) is leading the effort, along with GOP Reps. Don Bacon (Neb.), Rob Bresnahan (Pa.) and Nicole Malliotakis (N.Y.), plus Democratic representatives. Jared Golden (Maine), Tom Suozzi (NY), Don Davis (NC) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.). The legislation would also crack down on pharmacy benefit managers and expand health savings accounts.
During their conference meeting, House Republicans conceded that a bipartisan waiver bill to extend Obamacare subsidies for two years will work and pass the House.
The income limit for increased subsidies would be $109,000 for a single person and more than $200,000 for a family, both of which are reasonable figures that would not prevent people who really need the subsidies from getting them.

A group of House GOP mods will file a discharge request for a two-year extension of the enhanced Obamacare subsidies. THIS WEEK There are enough R’s on board that it could pass IF House Dems support it. It would be for the Fitzpatrick-Golden bill.
The discharge request for this bill was considered a gamble to this day.
