The Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced on Wednesday that he is planning to run re -election when his term of office ends in 2027, despite the corruption scandals that are involved in his socialist party.
“I am determined to walk in the following general elections in 2027,” Sanchez told reporters on Wednesday.

In the latter in a series of scandals, Sanchez is currently being investigated for alleged transplant in his Spanish Socialist Employee Party (PSOE). Although Sanchez – who has served as Prime Minister since 2018 – is not directly involved, the opposition of the country has been called to resign, according to BBC News.

Earlier this month Sanchez made an apology after Audio was released that apparently showed that PSOE Secretary Santos Cerdan discussed the incorrect about public contracts in exchange for commissions, BBC News reported.

Shortly after the news broke out, Cerdan resigned from the PSOE and stepped down as a member of parliament. On Friday, the police entered the party’s head office to copy the E -mails of Cerdan, according to Reuters.

On June 12, the Spanish Prime Minister said that he would not call new elections before the end of his current term.
Cerdan, who will appear before the Supreme Court for the Supreme Court on 25 June, says that he has never committed a crime or was implicit in one, Reuters reported.

Sanchez is one of Europe’s longest serving socialist leaders. His wife, Begona Gomez, is being investigated for possible business irregularities. According to BBC News, his brother, David Sanchez, must stand trial for alleged influence, according to BBC News.
