Trump has demanded withdrawals and apologies through his lawyer from the New York Times and CNN about the stories that report that the bombing of Iran failed, but the Times said no.
In a letter to the Times, a personal lawyer said for the president that the article of the newspaper had damaged Mr. Trump’s reputation and demanded that the news organization ‘pulled and apologized’, which described the letter as ‘false’, ‘defamatory’ and ‘unpatriottic’.
De Times, in a response to Thursday, rejected Mr Trump’s requirements and noted that Trump administration officials subsequently confirmed the existence of the report, published by the Defense Intelligence Agency and their findings. “No withdrawal is needed,” wrote the newspaper of the newspaper, David McCraw, in a letter.
“No apology will appear,” he added. “We have told the truth as well as possible. We will continue to do that.”
The New York Times does not earn a praise for doing what used to be the absolute minimum reaction to unfounded withdrawal and apologies. There is no reason for the NYT and CNN to apologize. Trump has still not provided any evidence that the reported stories were wrong.
It is a predictable turn of events. The New York Times spent the 2024 campaign tilting his cover opposite Donald Trump, Despite the approval by the editors of Harris. They employ various reporters with close connections with Trump World, and now the person who was able to do business media thought would save their companies.
Donald Trump does not believe in a free press. Trump uses the threat of lawsuits to silence the media to report information that he does not want the American people to know.
CNN also refuses to withdraw and apologize, but they have also caused damage to press freedom by bending their knee to Trump, so it is useful that they find their principles when Frankenstein comes to destroy their village.
There should be no sympathy for CNN or NYT. They are a large part of the reason why the country is in the current mess, and some suggest that they deserve what consequences are their way because they are so willing to help Trump.
