In “Making Money,” William J. Pulte, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, discusses efforts to make home ownership attainable for young Americans.
“President-in-chief” Donald Trump is reviving the housing market, Bill Pulte, director of the U.S. Federal Housing Finance Agency, told “Making Money” on Thursday.
Trump announced this on Wednesday that he plans to ban institutional investors from buying single-family homes.

“It’s time for corporations to stop owning these homes, and for people to start owning these homes and living in them the way nature intended,” Pulte said.
Trump took aim at Wall Street landlords, urging Congress to codify anti-Wall Street housing policies in a social media post.
“People live in homes, not businesses,” Trump wrote.
Pulte applauded the move, saying companies stealing homes from the hands of Americans has gone on “too long.”
The director argued that companies have priced out ordinary citizens in securing the American dream.
“She [corporations] in some cases are even purchasing homes at 20% to 30% less than some average Americans,” the housing official explained.

‘We can’t have this with companies making deals on houses. Meanwhile, people can’t even find shelter to live in… It’s just crazy,” he added.
Pulte said Trump is “doing everything he can to make homeownership possible again for Americans — an American dream that he says former President Joe Biden has dismantled.”
“Biden has done incredible damage, not just to the economy, but to the housing market,” he said.
“The administration’s goal is to rebuild the American dream after four years of Joe Biden destroying the housing market,” Pulte added.
Blocking companies from buying homes has long been a Democratic priority.
Pulte said that while top Democrats like Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. and Biden talked about the issue, they failed to act.
“[Trump] finally had the opportunity to do something that, quite frankly, Democrats didn’t have the guts to do,” he said.

The director also emphasized the benefit of having a commander-in-chief who is versed in real estate.
“[Trump] understands the real estate market,” Pulte explained. ‘He understands how important it is to keep house prices high, but at the same time ensure that people can finally afford a house again.’
