The Trump administration has sharply criticized the United Kingdom for its handling of mass immigration and the long-running rape gang scandal, which has mainly targeted white girls across the country.
In a statement to Although the statement focused on Britain, it also highlighted similar problems in Germany and Sweden.
“The State Department has directed U.S. embassies to report on the human rights and public safety implications of mass migration,” the statement said. “Officials will also report policies that punish citizens who object to ongoing mass migration and document crimes and human rights violations committed by people with a migration background.”

The statement refers to so-called “grooming gangs,” made up mainly of Pakistani men, who have victimized young girls for decades without government action.
“In the UK, thousands of girls have been victimized in Rotherham, Oxford and Newcastle by gangs involving migrant men,” the Foreign Office said. “Many girls suffered years of unspeakable abuse before authorities intervened.”
A day after the statement was released, GB News reported that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer told reporters at the G20 in South Africa that the national inquiry would “leave no stone unturned.”
The State Department’s warning comes weeks after several victims, members of the independent investigation, resigned over what they alleged was a continuation of a cover-up.
One abuse survivor, Ellie Reynolds, told cable channel GMB that the existence of ‘grooming gangs’ has been ‘swept under the carpet’ and ‘our voices have been silenced’.
She was supported by fellow survivor Fiona Goddard, who was cared for from the age of 14 and said when she spoke out for help she was dismissed as a ‘child prostitute’ by authorities.

Goddard resigned in protest at the cover-up, saying members of the grooming gangs around Bradford made up the “vast majority… Pakistani men”.
Successive governments – both Conservative and Labor – have been dealing with revelations that a number of ‘grooming’ gangs, often made up mainly of men of South Asian or Pakistani descent, have been sexually exploiting girls in the north of England for decades.

Before the inquiry, Starmer had ordered a national audit led by Baroness Louise Casey earlier this year.
On the hot-button issue of criminals’ backgrounds, the Casey report stated in part: “We found that perpetrator ethnicity is shunned and remains unrecorded for two-thirds of perpetrators, so we are unable to provide any accurate assessment based on the nationally collected data.
“Despite the lack of a complete picture in national datasets, there is sufficient evidence available in local police data in three police force areas we examined, showing disproportionate numbers of men of Asian ethnicity among suspects of group-based child sexual exploitation, as well as in the significant number of perpetrators of Asian ethnicity identified in local assessments and high-profile child sexual exploitation prosecutions across the country, to at least warrant further investigation.”

Her audit also identified other perpetrators, including white British, European, African or Middle Eastern individuals.
The results of the audit have been produced 12 recommendations for the government, which have been carried out, including a national inquiry to “lead local investigations and hold institutions to account for past failures”.

But the Starmer government has hit back at its failure to appoint a chairman for the inquiry and has faced resignations as critics have accused the Labor government of covering it up for political reasons.
“I hope the investigation will focus more specifically on the real issue that has plagued Britain over the past 20 years,” Mendoza added.

The point person for the government’s investigation is Labor MP Jess Phillips, who has been Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Protection and Violence against Women and Girls since July 2024.
However, Phillips is under heavy scrutiny over the way she approaches the design of the investigation.
Asked in parliament about the nature of the investigation and whether it will address the ethnicity of the perpetrators, she promised to be transparent.
“There is absolutely no sense that ethnicity is going to be buried,” Phillips said. “Every time there is a seemingly unnecessary delay – even though it took seven months to put chairmen in place for both the COVID survey and the blood test, and no one complained about it – we get used to saying we want to cover something up. That’s the wrong information I’m talking about. It won’t obscure things. We’re taking the time to make sure that never happens.”
Elon Musk addressed the issue earlier this year in a series of
Philips said the BBC that Musk’s comments were “disinformation” and put her “in danger,” but said it was nothing compared to what the victims of the abuse had faced.
