Texas House Democrats have made it clear that they are fighting for more than Texas. The members of the State House who left the Lone Star State to refuse Republicans a quorum to be able to pass a racial gerrymandered -re -distribution card are also fighting for the country.
Texas House Democrats do something else. They change the rules of involvement in American politics.
Video:
Rep. Ron Reynolds from Texas said on the weekend of MSNBC when he was asked how long the Democrats of the State can sustain and stay away:
It’s a sacrifice. And I would lie to you if I said, oh, forever. But I can tell you now, our determination is stronger than ever. We are burying and we are fighting against the American people. And Texans want to see Democrats fight. They are tired of seeing the bully, authoritarian president about Democrats running. And we said, no, no, no, no, you have not been treated with Texas yet. So we say, come and get it. We will last as long as it takes.
And we have already seen that we have been a catalyst for change. Yesterday we saw the Governor of California say that they will put a voting referendum on the mood in November to resume in California. So we try to keep it out for as long as possible to get other blue states such as New York and Maryland and other places where they do the same. We must change the rules of involvement and not allow President Trump to get us a knife to a firefight. So if all goes well for the goose, it’s good for the Gander. We will do what is needed, no matter how long it takes.
