Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes gave Speaker Mike Johnson two days to swear in Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva after her election victory was certified by the state earlier this week.
Hakeem Jeffries warned Johnson he would be indicted on Friday:
All options are on the table regarding Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva. It is shameful that she has not been sworn in because Speaker Johnson and House Republicans apparently want to continue hiding Jeffrey Epstein’s files from the American people.
This has been going on for weeks now, and so I expect that if she is not sworn in today at the pretrial hearing, as the Arizona Attorney General has made clear, I expect swift and decisive legal action.

Johnson responded to Jeffries by telling reporters:
I thought Hakeem was a better lawyer than that. It’s a publicity stunt by a Democratic attorney general in Arizona who sees the national moment and wants to draft me.
