Steak ‘n Shake COO Daniel Edwards joins ‘Fox & Friends’ to talk about the company making the switch from vegetable oil frying to beef tallow.
Steak ‘n Shake is shaking up its “Patriot Milkshake” with a new chocolate twist.
The milkshake is now served with a dark chocolate Statue of Liberty, the company announced on Monday.
“Patriot Milkshake is now added [a] Statue of Liberty. Yes fans, it’s dark chocolate,” the company wrote in a post on X.
The milkshake, which debuted in December, is still $2.50 and will remain that way for the rest of the year, according to the post. The chain previously announced that the shake would be available until January.

The company announcement included a photo of the milkshake, with the classic red, white and blue sprinkles, an American flag on a toothpick and a dark chocolate Lady Liberty on top of whipped cream.
The franchise first announced the milkshake in December as an early nod to America’s 250th anniversary, which the company said will be celebrated in July.

“Steak n Shake is getting a head start on the 250th anniversary of America’s founding,” the company said in a 2025 X-post.
The announcement received positive feedback on social media, with one X user writing: “This is something [w]collection seems.”

Alex Bruesewitz, a political consultant and Trump adviser, also reposted the announcement, heralding the addition.
“[Steak ‘n Shake] continues to prove they are the best fast food chain in America,” Bruesewitz wrote in the post.

Some chains, such as Jack in the Box, decided to close locations as part of a “broader turnaround plan.”
The company recently made headlines with the launch of their 100% beef fat fryers, becoming the only restaurant to serve this side dish.
