A Skywest flight was diverted to Austin, Texas, after he had experienced so strong turbulence that it ensured that two passengers were admitted to the hospital with injuries.
Skywest Flight 5971, active as United Express, left Aspen, Colorado, at 4.43 pm local time on Thursday and it was expected that it would land in Houston until a strong turbulence changed the route, Skywest Airlines told Fox 26 Houston.
The flight landed in Austin shortly after 8 p.m., more than three hours later than expected to land in Houston, according to Flightaware.

After a safe landing, EMS evaluated the 39 passengers and four crew members in potential injuries, Austin-Bergstrom said international airport officers Fox 26.
Two adult passengers were transported to the hospital with injuries that did not seem to be life threatening, the airport said.

Air traffic control audio that was released on Friday revealed that at least one of the injured passengers experienced bleeding, according to Local Outlet Kvue. The stewardess also said that a stretcher would be needed at the gate.
When asked if crew members were injured, the stewardess said ‘possible’. A passenger can also be heard about the turbulence and how it ensured that a man hit the ceiling of the plane in a video placed on Facebook by Gretchen Gilliam.

“Our highest priority is the safety and well -being of all on board and we work together with our partner United to help customers,” Skywest said in a statement to Fox 26.
