The boys from the @ruthlesPodcast predicts correctly on their Monday 1 September, program that a “Schumer -Hutdown” is coming this fall. Senate Democrat minority leader Chuck Schumer has to pretend he matters for the basis of his party, so he will force a closure. One of the two things that the Senate Gop has to do this month is underlined that the coming closure of the government is a “Schumer -closure”. DS must be made to possess it.
But the boys, despite all their gifts, who are a lot, did not emphasize the enormous risk that the Gop -Saat will take majority if the Gop conference does not forcels a change in the rules of the Senate. That would release the enormous backlog of the nominees of President Donald Trump to executive branches that have cleared their commission process.
Many senators are registered and demand that the “Reid precedent” is called to change the rules of the Senate with regard to nominees. Senate majority Whip John Barrasso outlined the unprecedented obstruction of routine nominees in a Wall Street Journal column on 26 August. “For decades, non -contact -in -handed nominees moved through the Senate in time,” remarked the Wyoming Republican. “Democrats destroyed this tradition by treating any nominated Trump as controversial.”

“The American people chose President Trump and Republicans with a directive to get the US back on the right track,” concluded Barrasso. “They did not vote for democratic delays and obstruction.”

What made Barrasso clear is that the Senate Gop can blow up the blockade and plan. In his column, he echoed the hard fuck positions taken by many senate republicans. Good. Delay in endangering the rule changes the majority of the Senate in November. This is the time to end this absurd exercise in theater politics.
It is time to make every candidate who knew his or her commission of jurisdiction, subject to immediate confirmation voice by the Senate. That requires a change in the rules of the Senate. Senate majority leader Harry Reid has set the precedent for such changes. Frustrated by the Republican delay on the confirmation of judges during the tenure of President Barack Obama – De Gop used the PlayBook Democrats during the anniversary of President George W. Bush when blocking highly qualified nominees – Reid first threatened to change the senate rules via a simple additionalness.
Summer and the living are uncomfortable on Capitol Hill
Reid continued his threat to change the senate confirmation rules. This representation of ruthless politics came after the then majority leader Senator Bill Frist faltered with his threat to do the same. That was when the “course of 14” Frist undermined in May 2005, after the Senator of Tennessee had promised his conference to the “nuclear option” to advance judicial nominees. It was the threat that Reid would later make and would continue in November 2013.
Reid continued, despite the then Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell, Reid warned that the Gop would use the Reid precedent along the line. When McConnell Senate became a majority leader, he called on the Reid -Precedent to expand the rule of Reid to cover the nominees of Scotus. It was a movement of McConnell, just like his no-adjusting, no-votes attitude after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia in 2016. The GOP believers knew that the “Grim Reaper” was not vain threats. McConnell knew that a threat made should be a promise.
Now the Senate Gop has to bend again and continue with his threat to re -use the Reid -precisent for the rules for nominees. If you do not do this and do this quickly, the chances of the GOP will be damaged in November 2026.
The days of: “We have always done it in this way with nominees” have long since disappeared and the majority leader John Thune gave Schumer every chance to change his ways. Schumer rejected every offer of a compromise.
Senate Gop ready to go nuclear after Schumer’s ‘political extortion’ of nominees
Presidents earn their appointed executive power. The Constitution is supposed to offer a quick way to give nominees to an up-or-down voice in the Senate.
The Constitution is clear about this. Article II, section 2 of the Constitution of the United States stipulates that the President will “name and with the advice and permission of the Senate, will appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court and all other officers of the United States, whose appointments are not provided here.”

The Senate is supposed to vote on the nominees of a president and although the senate committee process must be respected as crucial to check those nominees, a mood must follow almost immediately. The mysterious rules of the Senate for nominees, who have not provided blockade such as Schumer, must therefore be changed.
Dems digging up, Trump demands everything: nominated fight cooks in the senate while Gop is looking for a deal
Even while the Senate Gop has its collective loins for the Schumer Shutdown Media Battle, they need the Gop -Basis and even incidental voters to understand that it is behind Potus, and a litmus test of that support lies in the sense of lines for nominees, a change that has been imposed via the Reid -Preachtent.

It would also be useful to give a voice at the same time about the legislative filibuster on the floor and a new rule about “Blue Slips”, which have been abused for decades to keep some states free of serious procedural judges nominated by Trump.
De Gop must defend the long -term “rule of 60” for the amendment to the law, but the Republican senators can use the opportunity to change the Hypocrisis of Senate Democrats on the issue by also putting an end to the filibuster for a vote. It is also time to debate about killing the “blue slip” for the candidates of the court, or Coastal America may never get another serious federal court judge.
Heavenly Gop -Senators Mull throw the rules about Stonewalling DEMS
The last two suggestions are not mandatory for the Senate Gop to maintain confidence with his electorate, although they would bring the message home that this is not the Senate Gop of your father. The change in the rule of nominees is necessary. It is promised. Voting must be made this week or next.

The president cannot implement his plans for defense, national security and foreign policy – areas that are largely reserved for the president – without his nominees who have cleaned up commission in the first place.
Be willing to live with the change among democratic presidents and majorities. That is the test, because what goes around comes around. This rule changes through the Reid Precedent is constitutionally useful, and it is a practical, political necessity. Continue it, Senate Gop. If there are no -sayers in the conference, they should be obliged to take their position with a floor roll and defend it in their next elections.
