OpenAI CEO Sam Altman explains how GPT-5 will change what users and companies can do with AI on “Mornings with Maria.”
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Says that the launch of Chatgpt-5 is an important step forward in AI possibilities, one that he believes can help save lives and access massive economic value.
“You can imagine, just like a doctor’s assistant, that a company could build with GPT-5,” Altman said on “Mornings with Maria” Friday.
“That would really save a lot of lives.”

Altman described the new model as a “important” step forward for the company and technology in general, whereby intelligence to compare the experts in the field of PhD student within reach.

He also teased the ambitions of OpenAi to make GPT-5 a powerful income director and describes plans to sell tools to companies to stimulate their productivity and efficiency.
“I think a company like OpenAi will be able to build a $ 100 billion industry, only sell products to other companies,” says Altman.
“The efficiency gain, the value delivered is so worthwhile that, I think, I think we can now build a huge company here, and we are delighted to go there.”

One of the most important user cases that Altman described was a personalized workplace AI for employees. He said that employees were ultimately able to train on AI -based assistants to understand their individual workflows and to automate repetitive tasks. Altman said that such an assistant would give people “a huge extra leverage to work at the higher level.”

Industries Altman pointed out that it was possible to win the most, software engineering, finance, health care and data input. He mentioned early feedback from software developers who use GPT-5 and said: “You hear people say they are twice as productive, five times as productive. [are] Huge, huge numbers. “
Although Altman is optimistic about the long -term potential for creating jobs of AI, he acknowledged that there would probably be disturbances in the market in the short term. Some industries can reduce the workforce as tasks are more automated, he said, but in the end he believes that new roles will occur. In particular there are not yet.
“There will be totally new things that it just didn’t do – they were not even possible to think before AI,” said Altman. “And you will see these trees in these brand new types of job categories.”

Chatgpt-5 is “slowly rolling out for all users on Chatgpt Plus, Pro and team plans worldwide on web, mobile and desktop”, according to OpenAi and “will soon be available for Chatgpt Enterprise and EDU plans.”
Altman noted that the company worked to ensure that every version of the model, including premium layers, remains cheap compared to its performance options.
