Democrats have changed tactics and it seems to be bearing fruit. One of the lessons that Democrats have learned from 2024 is a number of advertisements and assuming that voters understand and get that it is not the most effective strategy.
In 2025, with Trump back in the White House, Democrats and their progressive allies brought their message face-to-face to voters. Democrats not only stay in blue or purple areas, they go to some of the most conservative states and districts in the country to give the message that the Republican controlled federal government does not work for them.
Rep. Ro Khanna brings this message to one of the redest states in the country by visiting South Carolina.
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) Will take his tour for ‘benefits above billionaires’ to South Carolina next week and keeps town halls in Gop districts in the deep south.
…
Khanna will also use the trip to troll republicans and talk directly with some of their voters, including those who trust Medicaid.
Khanna will participate in addition to Rep. Jonathan Jackson (D-Onl.) In town hall meetings in the districts of Republicans Rep. Nancy Mace (RS.C.) and William Timmons (RS.C.).
The Timmons district is a stronger Republican, but Democrats are looking at the seat of Mace.
“The Mace One is a profitable district, slightly red,” said Khanna. “That is precisely the type of district that we could win if we make the effort, but it is not giving.”
It was very nice of the Republicans to set the most important problem of the 2026 and perhaps 2028 elections in policy conditions by passing on a mass reduction for the rich that is partially paid by cutbacks to services for all others.
The gap between the electorate may not be red versus blue, but the billionaires versus everyone else. Many people in South Carolina will be harmed by the so -called Big Beautiful Bill, and Democrats show up in the state to tell Republican voters what their representatives have done to them.
The most impactful contact that can be made with voters is personal contact, and Democrats will be in Republican districts through the 2026 election day and distribute the message.
