Houchin spoke with owners of small companies, Ron and Mary Kay Mattingly, and Server, Peggy Weir, in the Chicken House in Sellersburg, Indiana, about the financial advantage of the only big beautiful Bill Act, including Trump’s “No tax on tips” policy.
“More money in our pocket every day when you go home. You earn it, you can keep it. For many of us it is help with paying on debts, helping saving, being on time on your bills. Just everyday things that some people don’t think about,” Weir said.
Houchin led budget negotiations for Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” in three major committees, including the house rules, budget and energy and trade committees.

Last month, the house took on Trump and debate is currently undergoing under the Senate Republicans to pass their own version through the self -imposed deadline of July 4.
Trump tries to fulfill his most important campaign blows through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which includes tax exemptions on tipped wages and overtime, extending tax cuts and job law of Trump and tax cuts on social security benefits.

“I feel that someone is finally listening to us and takes into account what takes it into account and takes it into account,” Weir told Houchin in the Chicken House.

However, there are some differences between the independent account of the Senate and the Megabill version of the house. One big beautiful Bill Act does not contain any limit on the tax allowance.
The senate bill “expands the business tax credit for the part of the payroll taxes that an employer pays for certain tips with wage taxes that have been paid on tips received in connection with certain beauty services.”
The new tax allowance, within the Senate bill, is limited to cash tips received on the job and reported for wage taxes.
It also expands the business tax credit for the part of the payroll taxes that an employer pays on certain tips with payroll taxes paid on tips received in connection with hairdressers and hair care, nail care, aesthetics and body and spa treatments. “
In the bill, the tax deduction is available from 2025 to 2028 and excludes high earners and certain service professionals.
According to the House Ways and Means CommitteeThe bill also expands the Federal Insurance Contributions Act Tip Tax Credit to beauty service companies such as salons and spas, so that employers can claim credit on social security taxes that are paid for tips.
“I think President Trump has a real feeling for the middle class and I think he warmly has the feeling that it helps,” the owner of Chicken House told Houchin.
