Donald Trump tries to run the United States in the same way as he runs the Republican Party. Almost everything that does its administration is meant to threaten, intimidate or cause fear.
Rachel Maddow pointed out that the frightening presidency that Trump is trying to create does not play as he thinks it is with the majority of Americans.

Maddow said:
This Trump presidency wants to be seen as frightening, right? They want to be seen as powerful and scary. They want people to be afraid of them. But what they are really equal is terrible and weird. And it is worthwhile to be afraid of that, because it is strange and terrible and scary to have someone so strange and terrible responsible for the federal government. But it is not frightening in the way they mean it is. It is frightening in the sense of like, oh my god, these people are in charge of what? I mean, Trump really has the man who scoops over pooping in the Capitol of the US, and those images of Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein is real. And the bizarre thing with his Ministry of Justice today and its statement about the Jeffrey Epstein conspiracy theories, what should we make of all of these people?
