Trump-Putin meeting voted in ‘In principle’, Kremlin assistant indicates
The top could eventually still fall apart, because the Ukrainian President Volodyymyr Zenskyy informed officials about the conditions of the Ukrainian constitution that require a national referendum for any territorial concessions.

A meeting between Putin and Trump would be their first since Trump returned to the office this year. It would be an important milestone in the 3-year war, although there is no promise that would lead to such a meeting to the end of the fighting, because Russia and Ukraine remain far apart for their demands.
Trump, who later appeared for reporters in the White House, did not answer any questions about a potential location for a meeting, but when he was asked about a top with Putin and Zenskyy, said: “There is a very good prospect that they will” meet.

The president refused to predict how close he was to reach a deal to put an end to the fighting and said, “I was previously disappointed with this one.”
