Major mobile payment services PayPal and Venmo, along with video sharing platform YouTube, experienced widespread outages within a 24-hour period.
The PayPal and Venmo outages began around 11 a.m. Thursday, with tens of thousands of reports of global outages on both sites by noon, according to Downdetector.coman online user reporting system.
The problem seemed to be resolved around 3 p.m.

“PayPal and Venmo experienced a brief service outage that has since been resolved,” the spokesperson wrote.

Hours earlier, YouTube confirmed that users were unable to play videos on Wednesday evening, noting that they were “insisted.”
Downdetector reported that more than 800,000 users reported problems on the platform within an hour.
YouTube posted later social media say the problem is solved.

“This issue has been resolved: you should now be able to play videos on YouTubeYouTube Music and YouTube TV!” wrote YouTube’s support team in an X-post.
No explanation was given for the malfunction.
