Training a parrot to mimic drug -related sentences played an unlikely role in helping the British police to dismantle a narcotic network that works in a prison, the authorities revealed this week.
The Lancashire Constabulary Announced charges against 15 people who were connected to the gang, who reportedly traded drugs in Blackpool, England, between February 2023 and July 2024. The group was led by 35-year-old Adam Garnett, who was already a prison sentence when the operation was discovered.
The investigation began after prison officials had searched Garnett’s cell and found several mobile phones and WiFi routers. The police led that discovery to several of his suspected employees, including Dalbir Sandhu, Shannon Hilton and Jason Gerrand. The searches of their houses emerged, crack -cocaine, ketamine, cannabis, large amounts of cash and mobile phones that are reportedly bound to drug trafficking.
One of the more bizarre findings came from Hilton’s telephone, which, according to the police, contained videos with her parrot, called “Mango,” repeat “two to 25”, a suspected reference for drug deal. Allegedly another clip showed the bird with cash that is said to have been related to illegal profit.

‘What is the most talented what your pet can do? Sit? Give leg? What about speaking? ” The Lancashire police wrote in a message on the Facebook page of the department.
“The parrot of a drug dealer learned to say ‘two to 25’ – picked up an expression as part of the common language used by the organized crime gang run by her boyfriend. No sense that you want your parrot Squawking when the police come beating!”
Researchers also discovered video calls between Hilton and Garnett, together with images that seem to show to show kilogram packages of cocaine, sometimes accompanied by music texts that refer to the drug.
Although they were behind bars, the authorities say that Garnett was central to the operation, managing efforts to hide evidence and keep contact with almost every member of the criminal network.

Det. Sgt. Anthony Alves of the West – -oriented crime team of Lancashire Police praised the outcome and called it a “coordinated and complex drug operation that extended far beyond the prison walls”.
“Garnett continued to run his business while he is locked up, with the help of illegal devices to maintain control. I want to thank my team, our partners of the Crown Prosecution Service and our persecution team for their dedication to bring these criminals to court.”
He added that Warrants remain active for Chloe Stott and Ryan Black and urged the public to come up with information about their place of residence.

The bust was part of Operation Warrior, the initiative of the Lancashire police to combat organized crime, drug trafficking, exploitation and violence in the region. The initiative is supported by police and crime commissioner Clive Grunshaw, who cheered the arrests and convictions.
“This sends a clear message: we will not tolerate organized crime in our communities. I will continue to give law enforcement the resources they need to remove these gangs and to protect the public.”
