Exactly two years ago, Hamas terrorists stormed Israel’s Gaza border, killing young families living on a small kibbutz and young people attending an outdoor music festival. The attackers killed more than 1,200 Israelis and took 251 hostages.
Fox’s Trey Yingst was on the scene just days after the Beeri massacre. This is what he saw:
“The kitchen floors are stained with blood. People were at home at the time. It was early in the morning on Saturday when Hamas militants burst into their homes. The soldiers here tell us they found bodies that appeared to be executed. People with hands tied behind their backs, mothers holding their small children, bodies decapitated. Pure horror in this small town,” reported.

Forty-eight hostages remain in Gaza. Twenty are believed to be alive. Aviva Siegel was held for 51 days, while her husband, Keith, was held for more than 400.
She remembers arriving in Gaza and seeing Palestinian families cheering and cheering over the wounded hostages.

“Everyone was just waiting for us. They knew we were coming. And we were immediately taken underground. And I’ll never forget the picture I got in my head of the terrorist telling me to get down this ladder. It’s very narrow to go underground. I was shaking. I’ll never forget his smile,” Siegel said on the second anniversary of the attacks’ attacks and the start of her captivity.

Her husband Keith was held in solitary confinement for six months.
“I was moved 13 times in 51 days while I was there. While Keith stayed there for 484 days, we were tortured, we were starved. They used to eat for us. I lost 20 pounds. Keith came home a skeleton. He was just so thin. I couldn’t walk when I got back. I was so sick,” Aviva said.
Tens of thousands of Gazans have been killed in the aftermath by the Israeli army, which now controls 80% of the Gaza Strip. Israel says it is not targeting civilians, but more than 90% of Gaza is now being destroyed.

“I am a witness to the Hamas terrorist touching the girls and doing what they wanted. I am a witness to the Hamas terrorists hitting one of the girls who was with us and threatening her that they are going to kill her just because they thought she was lying,” Siegel said. “For me, it was like being murdered. For me, not being able to help them and help Keith when he was being tortured was the worst thing I could have gone through. It was worse than when I was being tortured. And I was being tortured. I was being pulled by my hair. I was being pushed. I was being starved. I was being laughed at.
