Anti-Iranian protesters gathered in major cities around the world on Saturday and called for a change in leadership at a Global Day of Action Rally.
More than 250,000 protesters gathered in Munich, Germany, on Saturday, with the Munich Security Conference as a backdrop.
“With the registered number of participants, this meeting is one of the largest meetings held in Munich in recent years,” Munich police said in a press release. “The peaceful atmosphere is especially remarkable, despite the large number of participants in the meeting.”

Crowds reportedly chanted “change, change, regime change” and “democracy for Iran” with green, white and red flags with lion and sun emblems waving in the air and a few red “Make Iran Great Again” hats spotted.
Exiled Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi was among the hundreds of thousands who protested. He told Reuters that a possible attack on Iran would either weaken the regime or accelerate its fall.

“It is a matter of time. We hope that this attack will speed up the process, and that people can finally return to the streets and ultimately bring about the downfall of the regime,” Pahlavi said.
He said he hopes President Trump will get the United States to intervene and “get the support of the people.”

On Friday, President Trump said regime change in Iran would be the “best thing that could happen” while speaking to troops at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.

“People hope that at some point the decision will be made that there is no point, that there is no point, that we are not going to get anywhere with negotiations,” Pahlavi said. “Intervention is a way to save lives.”
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., was in Munich for the security conference and echoed a similar sentiment in a side interview Friday.

“These people, in my opinion, are non-negotiable. They are determined to carry out an agenda based on religion that teaches them to lie, teaches them to destroy in the name of God,” Graham said.

He said the regime is the weakest since 1979, adding: “It’s a regime with American blood in it.” And he called on demonstrators to ‘keep protesting’.
The senator also took the stage at the Global Day of Action, speaking to the crowd and holding aloft a black “Make Iran Great Again” hat.
Large demonstrations were also held in Toronto, Melbourne, Athens, Tokyo, London and Los Angeles.
An estimated 350,000 people marched through the streets of Toronto, the city’s police spokesperson, Laura Brabant, told The Associated Press.

“When regimes silence their people, the people ultimately find their voice, whether on the streets of Tehran or in diaspora communities around the world,” she said.

“As someone who came to this country from Iran, I know firsthand that these protests are not about politics. They are about basic human dignity, women’s rights and the basic freedom to live without fear,” she added.
