More than 30,000 wireless Power banks sold in the US and Canada have been recalled on reports of batteries that are set on fire and explode, which causes thousands of dollars in material damage.
The recall of ESR Halolock Power Banks has consequences for products with model numbers 2G520, 2G505B and 2G512B, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The items have five circular LED display lights on one side and were sold in dark blue, light blue, gray, white and black.
The products were for sale on Amazon, Home Depot and ESR Tech websites between September 2023 and July 2025. At least 24,000 were sold in the US and almost 10,000 were sold in Canada.

ESR received nine reports from batteries that found and exploded, which resulted in approximately $ 20,000 in material damage.
“The lithium-ion battery in the recalled power banks can overheat and ignite, which brings fire hazards and combustion dangers to consumers,” the CPSC wrote in its announcement.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the recall.
Consumers are encouraged to immediately stop using the recalled Power banks and to contact the company for a full reimbursement.

The product must be removed in accordance with the regulations of local and national hazardous waste, but may not be thrown into the waste, according to the CPSC.
“Called lithium-ion batteries must be removed differently than other batteries, because they form a greater risks,” wrote the CPSC.

“Your Collection Center for collecting Holderoure Wafde (HHW) can accept this recalled lithium -ion battery or device for removal,” it added. “Before you take your battery or device to an HHW collection center, please contact that office in advance and ask if the recalled Lithium ion batteries accepts. If this is not the case, contact your municipality for further guidance.”
