With a stream of conflicting reports – incorrectly displayed images, disputed news stories, claims of deliberate hunger – and not a Western press on the ground in Gaza, I believed that the only way to reach the truth was to visit the region and see it with my own eyes.
That is why I traveled to Israel last month with a dual group of the House Intelligence Committee to meet the leaders of Israel and that of the Palestinian authority, to deal with aid organizations and see the situation for myself.
Our focus was aimed at two critical goals: ensuring that life -saving aid reaches innocent citizens in Gaza and beats Hamas – the terrorist organization that launched this brutal war on October 7, 2023.

I visited Kerem Shalom, a central crossing point for help in Israel, where I saw countless trucks filled with food and waiting to enter Gaza. I also visited a Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) Distribution Command Center, where American contractors work tirelessly to distribute help safely.
Trump can repair the Gaza -Mislukking of the UN and put an end to Hamas’s stranglehold on help
The problem is no lack of help – it is that too little of it ever reaches the people who need it the most. I saw Pallet’s food, clothing and other items quickly crossing Israel to Gaza – within a few minutes of arrival. On the Gaza side, auxiliary cars were inactive and immobile.
Make no mistake, the need to stimulate humanitarian aid in Gaza is urgent. I made this clear to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. But Hamas has the blame for the failed distribution to children and families.
Even the United Nations, who has not been a fan of Israel, reports that almost 90% of his help is intercepted before they reach citizens. Why? The UN refuses to allow a protection of their trucks by the IDF, so that the aid is looted before it ever becomes in Palestinians. Without protection it is an open season.
We all have the videos of desperate Palestinians who throw themselves at moving trucks to grab food, often risk and lose their lives. We have seen Hamas attack the trucks and drivers and steal help that are intended for citizens. They use it to supply their hunters and to sell it for a huge profit on the black market. Last year alone, Hamas took over $ 500 million in stolen help.
There is a way to help Gaza. I know, my foundation has just helped in delivering 7 million meals … without incidents
This is not just a humanitarian crisis – it is a cruel strategy to take advantage of civil suffering.
There is a better strategy. In the GHF Distribution Command Center I saw how safe distribution sites successfully prevent Hamas. The sites are built to prevent looting, so the help actually reaches those who need it. GHF is now good for a maximum of 20% of all help in entering Gaza, with much greater success – and more sites are expected to come online online.
But instead of supporting this approach, both the UN and the World Food Program refuse to work with the GHF, so that the help was piled up in crossings. That must change. More coordination with the GHF and Israel would get food to families faster, lower prices and lower the financial lifeline of Hamas.
It is clear why Hamas does not want the GHF to succeed – they cannot steal or sell the help. On GHF sites, Palestinians actually receive a box full of three days of food for their family.
Hamas has closed GHF to a top question of the cease -the Fires and the GHF regularly faulted the civilian deaths at auxiliary locations without proof. In reality, many of these deaths appear as desperate citizens of crispinfoys or when Hamas hunters turn on violence near GHF sites. In June alone, Hamas founded and killed and killed at least eight GHF employees to distribute help among Palestinian families.
Democrats, Media betray Israel, but see who is stuck
Ultimately, assistance is crucial for our wider fight against Hamas.
After a visit to Kerem Shalom I went to nearby Kibbutz Kfar Aza, where Hamas terrorists killed 80 Israelis and kidnapped October 19, part of the deadliest attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust. In total, Hamas brutally murdered, raped, burned, beheaded and abducted more than a thousand innocent people, including 46 Americans. Walking those grounds was a burning memory that Hamas started this war and does not pay attention to life, Israeli or Palestinian, and will stop nothing to stay in power.
Almost two years after October 7, Hamas stares the 20 remaining living hostages, as recent videos show. A hostage, whose family I met, was forced to dig his own grave. The remains of two dead Americans are still being held.

But most of these are not reported on a large scale. That is why I insisted on leaving Prime Minister Netanyahu to western press in Gaza – to see what I saw at the intersection. The world must know that Hamas – not Israel – prevents food from reaching innocent Palestinians.
Our mission remains clear: get humanitarian aid directly to citizens, warns the release of hostages and remove Hamas from the power, so that it can never again perform the atrocities of 7 October. That is how we protect the national security of America, with our most important democratic ally in the fight against terror and helps to bring hope to the population of Gaza who is a future free of Hamas’ Reign of Terror.
