Something that almost any honest observer should be able to admit is that if Melania Trump were the first lady of a Democratic president, she would be the biggest fashion and style icon since Jackie Kennedy.
On Friday, “Melania,” a documentary about the first lady and the 20 days leading up to President Trump’s inauguration in 2025, opens in theaters across the country, putting her squarely in the spotlight for once.
It’s nothing short of remarkable, given that Melania is literally a fashion model, that while wives of former presidents like Jill Biden and Michelle Obama have regularly graced glamorous magazine covers, Mrs. Trump is treated like the icy foreigner when she’s not only completely ignored.
‘MELANIA’ will hit theaters worldwide on January 30. (Melania Trump)
While this cold shoulder from the old fashion and social pages is obvious, it doesn’t mean the first lady doesn’t have many loyal fans. On the contrary: she is extremely popular among Trump supporters, especially women.
GUCCI LEGACY LAUNCHES NEW ‘UNITY’ HANTAS WITH PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT MELANIA TRUMP’S ‘FOSTERING THE FUTURE’
At Turning Point USA’s AmFest in Phoenix last month, many of the women I spoke to, mothers in particular, couldn’t rate Melania more highly, both as a fashion icon and as someone with influence on the president.
One woman, in a sparkling custom MAGA jacket, told me, “I think Melania is the only one Trump really listens to.”
The first lady’s fans are clearly the potential moviegoers Amazon Studios is targeting with this ambitious project, even though we all know that no matter how many people see the film, it will be treated as a flop, a failure, and a joke.
VANITY FAIR EDITOR RAGES OVER POTENTIAL MELANIA TRUMP COVER, HALF OF EDITORS PREDICT ‘WILL RUN’
In fact, the humiliation of ‘Melania’ has already begun. Take, for example, a USA Today headline that reads: “Mocking Melania Trump’s documentary is an act of patriotism.”
The author of this strange and unhinged column asks: “For starters, there’s the question of why. Why do we need this documentary? Who asked for it, aside from the film’s namesake? And who cares?”

This elitist attitude on the left begs the question, although this isn’t surprising to writers like these, who have probably never met a Trump supporter. People need or want this Melania documentary because these leftists are blacklisting her from everything else.
MELANIA TRUMP Opens Up About Son BARRON’s Campaign Role, Life Behind the Scenes Before the 2025 Inauguration
The cultural institutions of our country and the Western world are still controlled by the left, and although their power over the population is decreasing, they continue to hand out goodies and prizes reserved only for true believers.
This is how President Trump can settle wars around the world, and yet we know he won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize. It’s how the New York Post can tell the Hunter Biden laptop story without a whisper of a Pulitzer, and it’s how the most stunning first lady of a generation can’t land on magazine covers.
The film is already being dismissed as a ‘vanity project’, but when the entire cultural sector blacklists someone, as with Melania, how else can you reach your fans and tell your story?
MELANIA TRUMP RECEIVES PATRIOT OF THE YEAR HONOR AT FOX NATION’S PATRIOT AWARDS
I have no idea how many people will see ‘Melania’. I know any song will be derided, but for the millions of Americans who admire the first lady, who want to know more about her and her role in the White House, the film is a very rare treat.

It will take a long time to solve the larger problem of anti-conservative bigotry and censorship in our cultural institutions, but there are positive signs. For example, recent upheavals in the venerated halls of places like CBS News, the Trump Kennedy Center, and Florida’s university system seem to irritate all right-wing, or should I say left-wing, people.
Other institutions, such as fashion magazines, Hollywood and late-night TV, still have a long way to go to achieve fairness and balance.
MELANIA TRUMP NAMED FOX NATION ‘PATRIOT OF THE YEAR’ FOR GLOBAL CHILD ADVOCACY WORK
President Trump likes to point out that the attacks he is experiencing are actually aimed at his supporters, that he is the one standing in the way. On some level, the same can be said of his wife.
Melania Trump is the stand-in for women who prioritize their husbands and families, who are talented but don’t insist on accolades, who go to church but can also wear stilettos and seductive dresses when the situation calls for it.

These are women who are mainly mocked in our society, and yet behind the scenes they make a large part of our society function, a role that many believe Melania Trump also plays in the White House.
So good for Melania and good for her fans. They deserve this star turn, and if it upsets a bunch of whiny liberals then that’s just the tiara on top.
