As a blizzard hits New York City, Socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani has offered citizens the chance to make some extra money shoveling snow, but there’s a catch: No matter how the racist left tells us, employees must bring valid ID.
Say it isn’t so, Zo. We know from the voter ID debate that marginalized brown and black people simply don’t know how to get a driver’s license. According to Kamala Harris, it has something to do with not having a Kinkos. So why is Hizzoner pushing Jim Crow 2.0 here?
Oh, and the required ID includes a social security card, so in addition to excluding minorities, Mamdani also excludes illegal immigrants.

Is the mayor afraid that people may not be honest about who they really are? That seems like a strange thing to worry about when hiring someone for a day job, when it’s not a problem at all when voting for our political leaders. And why doesn’t the stingy Mamdani let the ‘undocumented’ work? These are people who need to feed their families, and Zany Zohran emphasizes that they should not be deported, so what should they do?

I thought this was the kind of board that would send the Department of Sanitation to the U-Haul lot at 4th Avenue and 6th in Brooklyn and pick up a few eager employees. You know, like contractors do every day.
Sure, Mamdani claims no one is illegal on stolen land, but when push comes to shove, he’s just another racist xenophobe demanding people of color show their papers.
I can hear Zohran’s defenders saying, “It’s the law,” which is absolutely astonishing, considering Mamdani has never seen a federal immigration law he considered worth enforcing.

Where is his socialist spirit of civil disobedience? Zohran probably celebrates when our undocumented brothers and sisters are illegally hired. He says it’s the lifeblood of the city, and yes, it’s a boon for employers who don’t have to worry about paying for workers’ compensation insurance.
A win-win situation.

Certainly, Mamdani can and should defy this racist remnant of previous governments and direct the Ministry of Sanitation to put an end to this fascist demand that workers be citizens.

What’s the worst that can happen? Is Mamdani really concerned that fraud could occur without proof of identity? Could that money go to made-up people who don’t do snow removal? If that’s not a valid voting concern, why is salting sidewalks?
The level of hypocrisy on display here is staggering. Mamdani’s insistence that illegal aliens have the right to live in Gotham regardless of federal law absolutely implies that he believes these people can and should have jobs. But not for the city?
Zany Zohran would like to encourage you and me to hire an illegal worker and risk the possible federal penalties for doing so. In fact, he would celebrate it. So why can’t he bypass the system he now runs to give them a shot at snow plowing gigs?

The difference, of course, is that if the mayor or his government breaks the law, they are the ones who face criminal penalties, and obviously we can’t have that.

The reason that about 85% of Americans support voter ID is that it’s simply a no-brainer. Showing ID is a fundamental part of our daily lives, even as Democrats condescendingly suggest that people with certain skin tones have difficulty doing so.

The ridiculous nature of this argument is fully exposed when Zohran stands up on a stage and tells people not to forget their ID when shoveling snow, without blinking, as if he were eating rice with his hands, or calling someone racist.

But today the racist shoe is on the other foot and Mamdani should be ashamed. How many families of undocumented immigrants, or Americans who somehow can’t get an ID, will go hungry because of this monster?
Grow a backbone, Zohran. If you’re talking about illegal immigrants working in New York, it’s time to step up.
