Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro accused the United States of the search for a regime change in his country in the midst of a navy structure in the Caribbean on Monday.
The military deployment was authorized by President Donald Trump in an attempt to disrupt drug cartel activity, as part of his broader border policy. Maduro, however, said that the structure is an intervention in the cases of his country.
“They are looking for a regime change due to military threat,” Maduro told journalists, civil servants and uniformed military brass in Caracas, who acco the representative of his government at the United Nations last week.

“These cartels have dealt with historical violence and terror – and throughout the world – that destabilized the economies and internal safety of countries, while the United States also flooded with deadly drugs, violent criminals and cruel gangs,” said Chief Pentagon van August’s spokesperson.
“This requires a whole government effort, and by coordination with regional partners, the Ministry of Defense will undoubtedly play an important role in achieving the goal of the President to eliminate the ability of these cartels to threaten the territory, safety and safety of the United States,” Parnell added. “As a matter of safety and policy, we do not speculate about future activities.”
