Democrats say they will make life more affordable for Americans.
What a joke. People should ask:
If Democratic policies lower costs for Americans, why are all the most expensive cities in the US run by Democrats?
NEWT GINGRICH: THE EASIEST WAY TO MAKE AMERICAN LIVING AFFORDABLE AGAIN
Where were these concerned politicians when their party and President Joe Biden blew up federal spending and drove inflation to 9% – the highest since Democrat Jimmy Carter was president?
Show me a Democrat who supports sustainable measures that actually lower the cost of living, instead of false solutions like price freezes.
Why is it so expensive to live in Democrat-run cities and states? Because they impose high taxes, expensive labor regulations, expensive green mandates, and restrictions on new construction, driving up construction costs.
‘WENT TO FLORIDA AND TEXAS’: NEW BILLBOARDS SLAM NY, NJ ON HUGE RESIDENT FLIGHT TO RED STATES
New York, San Francisco, Boston, San Jose and Honolulu are the most expensive cities in the US. They are all run by Democratic mayors and are in states with Democratic governors. Of the ten most expensive cities in the country, all but one – Miami – are governed similarly by one party: the Democratic Party. The list includes Washington, DC and Seattle.
Why is that? First: high taxes. New York has the highest personal income tax in the US; California, Hawaii and Massachusetts follow closely. Why are taxes high? Because these cities and states spend too much money and have to fund their largesse by taxing their citizens.
New York, for example, will spend about $254 billion this year, an astonishing $100 billion more than a decade ago. About 20 million people live in New York State; Florida has a population of 23 million, but a budget of only $117 billion. To reiterate: Florida did that more citizens, but spends approx half as much as New York’s wasteful government. Obviously, taxes are lower in Florida, and so is the cost of living.
DEMOCRATS LIKE ZOHRAN MAMDANI CLAIM TO EMBRACE YOUNG PEOPLE. THEY BETRAYED THEM
People living in blue states are not only hit with high taxes, in other words, they are also hit with a high cost of living as companies pass on those taxes by raising prices.
Blue cities and states also hit employers with costly labor rules and regulations, which find their way into the prices people pay. In California, for example, the government demands high wages and complicated rules for work scheduling and overtime. For example, when the Golden State required fast food companies to pay their workers $20 an hour, more than 10,000 workers at that company lost their jobs. More painful for consumers, a study by the Berkeley Research Group found that menu prices rose 14.5% as a result of the $20 wage increase. So much for helping the “little guy.”
And what about the rental prices? During the recent New York City mayoral race, affordable housing was a major issue, which helped elect democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani. It was smart of the 34-year-old candidate, who has never held a job in the private sector, to campaign on solving a problem created by his own party.
DAVID MARCUS: WHY MAMDANI WILL SERVE TWO CONDITIONS NO MATTER HOW BAD NYC BECOMES
Mamdani is right when he says that rents in New York City are too high. Construction costs in the Big Apple have spiraled out of control mainly because they take too long to build, thanks to cumbersome approval processes that require multi-agency and city council approval, which is notoriously anti-business. Time is money in real estate.
In the last election, voters passed numerous changes to that burdensome regulatory process, but the mayor-elect has so far not committed to reducing the power of bureaucrats to throw the proverbial spanner in the works. Instead, Mamdani proposes freezing rents for some apartments, even though research on such measures shows that rent caps reduce housing stock and increase rents over time. He prefers a failed policy to one that would reduce the bureaucratic chain of approvals that fatten the coffers of local politicians and sustainably reduce costs.

Democrats are looking for an issue that can puncture President Trump’s popularity and unify their divided party. He was elected by a majority of Americans, in part because he campaigned on “fixing” the inflation that was driving Biden’s approval ratings into the gutter. Although he did not completely succeed, he made progress in three important ways:
* Removing the precious green energy mandates demanded by his predecessor;
* Cutting taxes for middle-class Americans and corporations, who will feel this relief next year;
* Deporting or causing millions of people in the US to leave illegally on their own, relieving the burden on housing and health care caused by the sudden influx of millions of people.
However, President Trump has also passed tariffs on imported goods, resulting in modest price increases for items such as clothing and washing machines. The liberal media predicted that the White House tariff regime would likely drive prices higher; In recent weeks these alarmists have reversed their dire predictions, but there is no doubt that rates have pushed up inflation slightly.

In particular, the tariffs significantly pushed up prices for certain goods, such as coffee and bananas. Recently, President Trump rescinded these tariffs, which will help shoppers.
Elsewhere, health insurance premiums for the 7% of Americans who use Obamacare will increase significantly this new year. This sudden jump in ACA premiums has been blamed on President Donald Trump, but the Republican Party should remind voters that Obamacare was only voted for by Democrats, and that they are also responsible not only for the premium subsidies that aimed to hide the true cost of insurance, but also for their end on December 31st.

In the coming year, President Trump and the Republican Party will have to protect Obamacare customers from losing their health care. Finally, they need to make some changes to the ACA that will deliver on its original promise to make health insurance more affordable for all Americans.
Meanwhile, Republicans must reduce the cost of living through lower taxes and fewer regulations. That’s really a policy that works, isn’t it TikTok sound clips.
