Kristi Noem wants to become president and is using the Department of Homeland Security as a launching pad to act as shadow president while Trump is in power.
The Wall Street Journal recently published a story about Noem’s White House ambitions and the clown show she puts on at DHS:
Early in her administration, Noem allocated $200 million from the department’s budget to air an ad campaign warning immigrants in the country illegally — in English — to “leave now.”
…
The ads alarmed many in the administration who believed the campaign focused more on her than the administration’s message, and was a sign of Noem’s own presidential ambitions.
The secretary calls internal DHS meetings with subagency heads “cabinet meetings,” which some aides see as further evidence, according to people familiar with the meetings.
Noem is a Republican from the Trump family who is reportedly having an affair with Corey Lewandowski, even though both are currently married. In another time, someone who makes these so-called life choices would be disqualified from running for president, but in Trump’s party she can see herself as a contender for 2028.
The DHS secretary, like the rest of the executive branch, has no role in overseeing elections in the United States.
This hasn’t stopped Noem from keeping her endless presidential campaign in the shadows wading into the SAVE Act, who is already dead upon arrival in the Senate.
