Republicans cannot defend Trump’s closure. Donald Trump still has to step before the cameras live and defend his closure. Trump is the first president in the decades of history of the government’s closures to hide and not speak to the country.
The White House and the Congress Republicans have defended their government’s closure by claiming that Democrats want to restore the Obamacare subsidies to give the health insurance of the “illegal alien beings”.
At the White House press conference on Friday, press secretary Karoline Leavitt was confronted with the lie.
A reporter asked: “At the top of the briefing you have made a statement that the Democrats are interested in giving health care to illegal immigrants. Yes, they are. The American law is already forbids that. It is a 1996 law that says they cannot be authorized immigrants who can give a sought -after immigrants in the messages in the messages.
Leavitt tried to change the subject to Medicaid, “deny. That Medicaid -money never went to illegal alien beings in the United States of America.”
Immigrants without papers cannot get a medicaid in the United States. It’s illegal. Only immigrants with legal status are eligible for Medicaid after a waiting period of five years.
The answer to Karoline Leavitt is no, “illegal aliens” cannot get a medicaid.
Video from Leavitt:
Leavitt tried to change the subject because she knows that immigrants who are illegal in the country cannot get ACA subsidies, so the claim that Democrats are trying to offer health care to non-citizens is a lie.
That lie was not purchased by the vast majority of the publicSo all Leavitt can do when it is challenged is to change the subject of Medicaid, which she was wrong with.
The Trump administration cannot defend why they want to make the health insurance policy more expensive and to trot Karoline Leavitt to avoid and weave, with a healthy dose of lies, does not help.
Republicans are in a weak position at this closure and the more they try to defend it, the greater the disaster becomes.
